What score passes the Texas knowledge test?
The Texas Driver Handbook specifies a score of 70% or better for knowledge exams. Check the current DPS handbook and the requirements for your license type.
Can I study in Chinese or Spanish?
TX Driver supports English, Spanish and Chinese study. DPS offers the non-commercial knowledge test in English or Spanish and requires understanding English road signs. Translators may not help during the test.
Do adults need driver education and ITD?
First-time applicants aged 18–24 need approved driver education; the adult route is a six-hour course. Completed teen education can also qualify. DPS does not require driver education at 25 or older. When a driving test is required, ITD is a separate requirement with a certificate valid for 90 days. Valid out-of-state license transfers have separate rules.
What should I check before applying?
Use the official DPS application guide for identity, Texas residency, lawful presence, Social Security and appointment requirements. Driver education and tests depend on age and licensing history.
